About The Project

The transgressive behavior at the workplace video is a project that I worked on during my internship at Urrebuk. The video was created to advertise a platform where employees can anonymously call out unwanted workplace behavior without fear of repercussions or retaliation.

This was the first project where I oversaw a larger part of the production. From concept and visual development to storyboarding and until the end of the animation stage.

The Concept

I was asked to translate a script into a video of max 5 minutes. The challenge was to come up with something expressive while keeping the the animation to a minimum as there was little budget. For this reason I pitched a moving storyboard in a graphic novel style.

For the studio the project was also a technical experiment. Next to creating the storyboard I was asked to experiment with the software: ‘EbSynth’ for the interview parts.

The Story

The video is a fictive story about a young woman recalling her experience with sexual intimidation at her work. She has to navigate an impossible position because she was not responding to her boss’s advances.

Together with the script writer I worked on the foundation of the story. We went over the details like the settings and the relations of characters. From trough several versions I worked out layouts of key locations and visualized and experimented with the camera for the story telling

I experimented with the the layout of the panels. as the idea was that it would be a moving comic the camera moves from panel to panel

Then when the script, layouts and sketches were finalized, I created the final layout and coloring to be animated in After Effects.
